What you’ll Learn
What is Yin Yoga?
Explore the foundational principles of Yin Yoga, the qualities that distinguish Yin from more active practices, and how stillness, time, and appropriate stress shape the practice.
What Tissues Are We Stressing?
An introduction to functional anatomy and the tissues we are working with in Yin Yoga, including fascia and connective tissue, and how understanding function can change the way we approach postures.
14 • 10 • 7-Functional Teaching Method
Learn a functional framework for understanding the body through 14 skeletal segments, 10 myofascial groups, and 7 archetypal poses—moving away from the idea that every body should create the same shape.
Archetypal Poses & Variations
Explore the foundational Yin postures through their underlying archetypes, intentions, variations, and possible adaptations. Learn how one functional intention can be expressed through many different shapes.
The Language of Yin Yoga
Explore how language can support curiosity, sensation, and student sovereignty rather than imposing a single “correct” alignment or experience.
The Practicalities of Teaching Yin
Learn how to begin putting the pieces together—from choosing and adapting postures to timing, transitions, sequencing, and creating a coherent Yin Yoga practice.
Introduction to Five Element Theory
Discover the foundational principles of the Five Elements and how the cycles and qualities of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water offer another lens through which we can understand our bodies, energy, and relationship with the natural world.
Introduction to Meridian Theory
An introduction to the energetic pathways used within Traditional Chinese Medicine and how Meridian Theory can begin to inform the intention and energetic architecture of a Yin practice.
Practice Along the Way
This isn't only a course to watch—it's a course to experience.
Throughout the training, guided Yin practices allow you to explore the postures, variations, functional language, and concepts introduced within the lectures directly through your own body.
You’ll also receive bonus Yin Yoga and Qi Gong practices, offering different ways to explore stillness, movement, Qi, and the energetic principles introduced throughout the course.
Your Course Resources
You’ll receive a comprehensive digital study manual to accompany the lectures and practices, giving you a resource to return to long after completing the course.
You’ll also receive practice playlists and class layouts from the Yin practices within the training, offering inspiration and practical frameworks for creating your own classes and personal practices.
Because the course is completely self-paced, you can move through the material in your own rhythm—pausing, practicing, revisiting lectures, and returning to the resources whenever you need them.
